Sea to Sky Highway , BC Real Estate

Choosing a single family home or a vacation condo in Whistler can be made simpler by deciding which Whistler or Blackcomb neighborhood best fits your taste and lifestyle. Driving from Vancouver into Whistler on Highway 99, or the Sea to Sky Highway, you’ll discover the neighbourhoods of Whistler-Blackcomb, each with its own feel and features.

Once past Function Junction, the commercial and industrial area just south of Whistler, you’ll first come across Whistler Creek, which was the original centre of Whistler. On the east side of Nita and Alpha Lakes at the base of the Whistler Mountain are the Bayshores and Nordic Estates neighbourhoods which offer luxurious three and four bedroom homes, or majestic ski-in-ski-out lodges with breathtaking views, and unparalleled privacy.

Continuing north on Highway 99 brings you to the Alta Vista, Blueberry Hill, and Brio neighbourhoods, lying to the east of Alta Vista Lake. This is the area of Whistler that saw its first Lodge, Rainbow Lodge, established here in the early 20th century, and which started Whistler on its path to becoming a major resort destination.

Just past the Whistler Golf Club, is the picturesque pedestrian Whistler Village that bridges the area between the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Above the Upper Village to the east, at the very base of Blackcomb Mountain is Blackcomb Benchlands, the future home of the Four Season’s Private Residences, which will offer owners condo-hotel amenities.

Just up the road from the Village are Whistler Cay Heights, Whistler Cay, White Gold Estates, Nesters, and Spruce Grove. Past the Nicklaus North Golf Course is Alpine Meadows, with many single family homes with the incredible Whistler views. And finally, past Green Lake are Emerald Estates, and Green Lake Estates, where you’ll discover spectacular single family homes with lake and mountain panoramic views.
